İktidar İmgeleri: Lidya’dan Osmanlı’ya Paranın Yolculuğu
Drawing on Yapı Kredi’s collection of more than 55,000 coins, the exhibition follows the journey of money across Anatolia. From the Lydian invention of coinage in the 7th century BCE to the Ottoman era, this unbroken line is also a history of how power turned itself into an image. The collection was assembled from the 1950s onward to keep cultural heritage from leaving the country, and became a museum in 1992.
