Karagöz, My Dear

Dedicated to Karagöz, the traditional Turkish shadow theater, the exhibition presents around 350 figures by more than 20 artists. It includes 187 original works from the 1930s by the master Ragıp Tuğtekin, shown alongside earlier and contemporary makers. The display examines Karagöz’s place within the world’s shadow-theater traditions, its spread, and the influence of mythological and folkloric motifs on these cut-out figures.
