Tatarlı: The Return of Colours

The painted wooden beams of the Tatarlı Tumulus near Afyon, dating to the 5th century BCE, are among the most important surviving examples of ancient wood painting. The exhibition centres on their return to Turkey and the scientific recovery of their original colours, opening a window onto the daily life and beliefs of people living in Anatolia in the 5th century BCE.
